Workshops

The ability to create elegant winter watercolors of river ice, set in the drama of the winter woods, is markedly different from winter subjects in open snow covered landscapes. The lighting is dramatically different requiring a precise painting procedure and several distinct watercolor washes.

Reflected sunlight, shadows falling over deep snow, and reflections of trees in both wet surface ice and stream require careful observation and brushwork.

Created with correct procedures and skills, few subjects offer artists more visually engaging and dramatic light-filled watercolors.

Each of David Rankin’s masterful Zoomshops are expertly focused on a selection of specific watercolor skills that are designed to help talented artists refresh existing skills as well as develop & enhance new ones.

David’s Zoomshops are intensive opportunities to train directly with David Rankin, in live sessions, and then use the recording of the session and follow-up training materials to continue to refine & enhance your skills & confidence as a Watercolor Painter.

Today’s remarkable new technologies allow artists to train directly with watercolor masters like David, from virtually anywhere in the world.

Once registered, artists will receive an email with a Zoomshop equipment & pigment suggestions list.
