What inspires me is the grandeur of sunrise over the lowcountry. The spectacular colors in the sky, the intricate design of the salt marsh as the tide softly retreats, and the warmth of the morning sun gently waking the world, felt almost symphonic in their harmony. The Snowy Egret, in particular, seemed to capture the essence of that waking warmth with an elegant grace that lingered in my mind.

Expressing this tranquil symphony required careful consideration of form and technique. The process was uniquely defined by abstract design and the soft blends of color and texture. This approach allowed me to convey both the boundless beauty of the South Carolina coastal salt marsh and the calm, refreshing grace of the dawning day.
